Good morning/afternoon/evening,you beautiful people!

It’s been a minute since I wrote about environmental topics. I felt that it was necessary to write about what is going on in our world’s political climate, which I most definitely will be writing about more often :)

I saw something very disturbing as I was going through my news feed earlier this week. If you are well informed then you would know about Yemen and the struggles of its people. It’s really heart-breaking to know about but if you would like to know more and help ,I will leave some helpful links below. Sadly this is not the disturbing thing that I saw on my news feed.

Helpful Links :)

As you know due to the coronavirus , many businesses have been forced to shut down as they can no longer keep running without the constant revenue from customers. Farmers are among those hit terribly as they sell their produce to restaurants , markets and general stores. Now that many of these are forced to close , farmers no longer have a place to deliver their produce to and so are now stuck with tons of produce but no consumers. This has now led farmers to throw out heaps of FOOD and this makes me extremely sad!

I know what it is to be hungry and even though it is no where near the level of hunger and deprivation of the Yemenis people and others worldwide , I empathize. I do not understand why world leaders do not come together and share their food with one another. Yes, they will be a loss especially if the food is given for free which I would highly recommend but the food is going to rot and waste away anywhere. Why can’t the food be transported to those who need it the most? Some have surplus while others have literally nothing!

I encourage to give what you can ,where you can. Give to shelters and hospitals, clinics and soup kitchens. Please while there , do not shove cameras in people’s faces, from personal experience, it’s dehumanizing and should be frown upon. Please do not donate food that is already off, if it’s gone bad, it’s gone bad. It can be used for compost :)

I want you to think twice before you throw out food or leave your tap running unnecessarily. If you are reading this then know that you are privileged in many ways and even though you may not be a famous nor wealthy, it’s the little things that matter.

I love you all so dearly and sincerely hope that this has helped you in one way or another.

Wishing you a magical rest of the week!

All my love 💗
